Carrot And The Rosy Cheeks

Once upon a time, there lived a King and a Queen who gave birth to a little princess who had such a beautiful rosy cheeks that no one who saw her could help loving her. As the little princess started growing up, she started becoming very fussy, Scarlet loves something for weeks and then suddenly hate it. Ever since she was a child, she really loves to play with wooden toys and then suddenly she really doesn’t enjoy to play with them anymore. Everybody in the Kingdom started talking about scarlet’s changing behavior and her rosy cheeks which are turning pale now. The King and the queen also got worried that how their daughter Scarlet is becoming fussy and losing her rosy cheeks. The king and the Queen were deeply saddened.

For the next few days the King consulted with his ministers and wise men from various parts of his kingdom. But none could come up with solution. Meanwhile the Queen kept weeping and fell ill. “My dear, it seems that there is but one last hope”- said the King.

The King tells the queen that in the woods near the castle, there lives fairies and that  people came from far and near to consult them.  “Then we must go and ask their advice, perhaps the fairies will know what to do to prevent our daughter scarlet’s rosy cheeks- said the Queen. They set out very early the next morning on their horses. When they reach the forest they dismounted for the trees grew so thickly that horses could not pass and they made their way on foot to the conspicuous tree where the fairies lived. The fairies startled and at once recognized  the king and the queen. Welcome king and queen what do you ask of us? The queen tells them all that is happening with their daughter and ask what she should do? The fairies looked each other and ask the queen does their daughter eat vegetables? Or does she eat carrots? The queen tells the fairies that as Scarlet is very fussy she doesn’t like to eat carrots now. The fairies understood and said thats all!!! And tells queen to make scarlet understand the importance of carrots and other vegetables .  Fairies tells that the carrots are rich in Vitamin A , they are full of fibre and minerals. Carrots will surely bring back the rosy cheeks again. The queen thanked the fairies and they hasten back to the castle. Now the queen herself makes variety of carrot dishes like carrot juice, Carrot cake, carrot muffins, carrot rice and so many.

Now Scarlet started eating carrots and she got her rosy cheeks back. Now again like her childhood everybody in the kingdom that one saw her could not help loving her.
