As soon as summer arrives, kids eagerly wait for the summer vacations and the fun filled activities of the summer camp. But this year we all stuck in the movie which is not of 3 hours perhaps we don't know how and when it gonna end.
Keeping your kids entertained all the
summer long can be challenging. Where your kids don't need to get up early in
the morning for virtual classes and also they can be little indisciplined
too.
Since no one is really going out why
not to indulge your little ones in some fun frolic activities at home?
1.
At home Fashion Show
Let your child raid his/her closet and put on the dresses with something unique and creative DIY items with every outfit made by themselves. Their soft toys can become their audience. This will encourage them to understand the blending of colours and will also boost your child's confidence.
2.
Indoor camp out
Indoor camping can be as fun as sightseeing real camping. Why to go out in the pandemic when you can make your own tent by using some blankets over the chair. You can spend a whole day with your kid preparing for the trip. From packing the meals and enough water to drink, stocking up on snacks and games to play together. Spent a night in the tent with your child and read books or can have camping food and you can also spend some good time without phones with your child.

Cook meals together
Kids always imitate their mother and father. May be they will copy your walk or always wanted to help you in house hold chores. Cooking meals is one the activity they always imitate. So this summer you can actually take their help. Talk about what their favorite meal and share your favorite too. Start by giving them basic task like washing the vegetables, spreading butter on bread, pass the spatula or take their help in putting salt in the dish.

Make friendship bracelets
Knotting friendship bracelets together not only engage your child's fine motor skills but also you will get to know their meaning to friendship and its importance. You can also know why they choose him/her as a friend. It's like a sneak peek into your child's space.

Write a letter to your loved ones
Encourage your child to write letters to grandparents, uncles and aunts. Yes as they are very small and not yet introduced with writing a great letter. But can draw pictures to express their love for them. And can learn write small words like Hi, I Love You, I Miss You, Come soon. If your child is too young to write you can encourage them to record a voice message.

Learn Yoga
This summer encourage your child to do Yoga as it is the best thing to introduce to your child in early years. Practicing yoga in early years strengthens body, Improves Posture, and inculcates focus.
7.
Recycle old bottles and create planters
This is the fun yet creative activity
to do with kids. This will not only engage your child for hours but it'll also
stimulate their creativity and imagination. All you need is a plastic bottle,
acrylic paint, Utility knife, googly eyes, Glue and some seeds.
* Using a utility knife, carefully cut the plastic bottle in
half or about 1/3 of the way from the bottom.
* Using a paint brush, paint the bottom portion of the bottle.
Add multiple layers if necessary. Let it dry.
* Glue a pair of googly
eyes to the front.
* Fill the bottle with soil then add some seeds.
* Water them regularly and don't forget to the right amount of
sunlight.
* Watch it regularly and see the root system.
* They may need help in cutting the water bottles, but can easily do the rest on their own.
8.
Go on a texture walk
This is a great activity for your child's senses. It helps your child to explore the touch and feel of everything. Start by collecting things which are soft, hard, rough, and bumpy and so on. Create a path with the different kinds of objects include water, sand, leaves etc. This is an amazing activity for your kid’s development.
9.
Science experiments
It is never too early to introduce fun
easy science experiments to your kindergartner as it seems almost everything
exciting and magical to them. Here are few easy which you can try this at your
home with simple ingredients founded around your house.

Candle and Glass
You will need:
* Candle
* Candle lighter or matches
* Drinking Glass
* Wooden board or plate (optional)
How to do:
Place the candle on the wooden board. Light the candle with the help of matchstick or candle lighter. Then close the candle with the glass so that you can see through the light. After few seconds your kid can see the flame comes down and eventually goes off. You can also try opening the glass when the flame is low to see how it picks up oxygen again and the flame goes higher.

Float and sink
You will need:
* Pins
* Rubber ties
* Paper
* Pen
* Spoons
* Stones or marbles
* A pan
* A glass of water
How to do:
Fill a pan with water and ask your kid to put the objects one by one and observe which objects are floating and which are not floating.

Firework in jar
You will need:
* A clear glass jar
* 5-6 taplespoon of Vegetable oil
* Food colouring
* A glass of water
* A whisk or spoon
How to do:
Fill your jar 3/4 full with water. Add oil and food colouring such as green, blue and red. I would recommend add only any 3 colours not more than that. And mix all the ingredients well with the help of whisk or spoon. Now wait and see all of the little drops of food colouring starts to come down from oil and hence making fireworks.

Make your own bubbles
You will need:
* A bowl
* 2 cups of water
* 1/3 cup dish soap
* 2 tablespoons of glycerin
* 1 spoon
* Bubble straw
How to do:
Take a bowl. Add 2 cups of water, 1/3 cup of dish soap and finally add 2 tablespoons of glycerin. Stir everything with the help of spoon until everything gets dissolved. And that's it. Blow the bubbles through bubble straw with your child.

Chemical chameleon
You will need:
* Water
* Sugar
* Lye
* Potassium permanganate
How to do:
Take a glass of water add sugar, lye
and potassium permanganate. Wait for the reaction and it will change colour.
The colour change runs from purple to blue to green to orange- yellow and
finally to clear isn’t it magical?
Your little one will amaze to see these experiments.
10.
Homemade play dough
Play dough activities are amazing. They are great for sensory, fine motor skills, and eye hand coordination. You can create your own play dough with few ingredients like flour, water. Knead it well and your own play dough is ready. You can even encourage your child to make it own, for little fun you can also add some glitter or food coloring.
11.
Create your own library
This will make your child independent, organized and responsible. And also inculcate love for books.

Create DIY bird feeder

Picture Reading books are amazing to
read with your child. It develops imagination, stimulates curiosity with full

stories to your child at the bedtime.

Make DIY Paper kites
Flying kites is tons of fun! Right? How
about making your own DIY kites.
You need:
* Two sticks
* Garbage bag,
* Scissors
* Ribbons
How to make:
Take two sticks and tie them together making
a cross with a string. Cut the garbage bag to fit in the frame. Tie the end of
the sail to the frame. Tie some ribbons to the end of the kite to balance it.
Add a long string to one edge of the frame and your kite is done.
Making macaroni necklace is a great activity for kids of all ages. This is an excellent way to build up fine motor skills by practicing threading. You can even dye or colour pasta/macaroni and string them in a yarn or thread.

Set up a puppet theater together
Create a DIY puppet theatre at your home and bring out all the collection of fables and fairytales you have and spend some cherishing moments with your child.
18.
Watch movies together
Watching movies together with popcorns with your child can be as fun as doing any activity. It could be your child's favourite animated movie. This could be also great way for you to travel back in time and relive your childhood.
19.
Have a game night
Crack opens all the board games or plays antakshari, hide and seek, carrom and spend some quality time with your child. This is the fun way to make memories and also keep your inner child alive.
20.
Get a pet
A furry pet will not only provide a
company to your child but also help them develop empathy, responsibility, love,
compassion, care and non verbal communication skills. You can also get a
fish.
